2. The Balboa Island

This man-made island is located in California, Newport Beach. Actually, the island consists of three islands named Collins Island, Little Balboa Island and Balboa Island. Before the islands were created, there was nothing but swampland and mudflats around. Now the place attracts thousands of people from around the globe. Also, it is a residential area where approximately 3,000 people have their homes.
