Gordon Ramsay says you should never order THIS dish at a restaurant

What should you never order in a restaurant?
According to Gordon you should really think twice before ordering the “soup du jour” or: the soup of the day. Some restaurants try to appear exclusive by boasting a soup of the day, but it’s not unthinkable that it’s simply a soup of the month. Gordon gives the tip of asking the waiter what yesterday’s soup of the day was; that way you’ll know.

What should you do if you are served a bad meal?
One thing is simple according to Gordon: the customer is king. “You are going out for a special night, so if it’s an unsatisfactory experience, take the opportunity to let the staff know so that they can rectify it then and in the future,” he says. But he also think that you should always compliment the serving staff if you had an excellent meal. “Don’t be shy either way.”

Are Valentine’s Day menus a trap?
“Valentine’s Day is the worst day of the year to go out,” Gordon tells Town and Country. Busy kitchens with loads of diners means you don’t really get the true experience of a restaurant, according to him. He thinks people should be cooking romantic meals on Valentine’s Day themselves. “What’s more romantic than a meal cooked for your partner with a good bottle of wine?”
